Murakumo is a lithe young man of a balanced build. His muscles are not very large, though they are indeed very toned. It isn't readily noticeable at first, but his upper body is slightly better built than his lower body due to his style of fighting.
While not disfigured or anything. Murakumo's body is actually fairly scarred up. This is a man who has had the crap beat out of him as often as he has beaten others. Above his left eye is a horizontal scar from a close call with a knife. His forearms have been cut and also torn from the attacks he has defended against before, along with his shins. His torso isn't as bad, though along his ribs and on his right chest, there are marks of previous damage.
His long red hair is almost always tied back. He enjoys having it, but would rather not have it get in his face constantly. He keeps it short up top, keeping it maintained on a regular basis. he liked the look and really hasn't seen cause to change it. His eyes are a brilliant emerald green. Full of life and curiosity. They have a kindness to them that can be taken at face value.
Apparel/Armor::
The outfit pictured above is Murakumo's basic outfit. Sometimes the color of the shirt and pants will vary. Though the basic clothing is often the same.
When training or fighting in a structured tournament. He often dons a dark green pair of sweatpants, and a black tank top while his hands and feet are wrapped. He wears no accessories while in this set of clothing.
Murakumo also enjoys wearing a variety of well tailored suits when he is going to a formal occasion. It's not likely to ever see him in a tuxedo, but seeing him well dressed in suit and tie is fairly common. He often wears the suits just a hair too large to allow easy movement.

Upon closer inspection, it can be seen that his arms are curved ever so slightly, tensed and ready to fly into action. He is slightly bent at the knees and his head is barely inclined while he id marginally hunched at the shoulders. All these alterations in his stance are not easily noticeable except to experienced fighter who would be able to see the stance for what it is.

Chi Abilities::
Enhanced perception:
By channeling his ki through his eyes and along his optical nerves, Murakumo can enhance his perception which will allow him to pick up movements within his sight much easier. Almost having the effect of seeing things in slow motion.
However, this ability is not capable of enhancing his speed. If he can't match his foe's speed, than all that happens is that he gets to see what just hit him. If a movement is out of his field of vision or his opponent can teleport. The ability is worthless.
While this requires little ki. It has the chance of damaging his eyes. This can be used for two posts without ill effect, and requires a ten post cool down. He MUST use the ability with two consecutive posts. If it it pushed past it's two post safety range, it can start leading to permanent vision problems.
Chi dispersal:
If struck with a chi projectile, Murakumo can disperse it throughout his body instead of only taking the attack in a single point. This still causes him harm, but in theory, not as much as he would from a direct attack.
This is only used when he doesn't manage to dodge a projectile, and if the projectile is of an elemental property, he is not likely to use it. This is really only effective against pure chi projectiles and not much else.
The major drawback is that if used too often, he could be broken down faster than if he was only dealt a few major hits. It is an ability which must be used with tactical precision.
Burst step:
This chi ability allows Murakumo to move about at roughly an additional three quarters of his normal movement rate. he only channels the ki along his leg muscle, putting them into overdrive. He doesn't use this ability to increase attack speed at the like.
This wears him down much more quickly than when he is moving normally. This has a three post limit, and a four post cooldown. The more he uses it, the quicker he will wear down.
Iron palms:
Murakumo is capable of condensing the skin at the palms of his hands. This makes his palms and forearms as sturdy as stone itself, letting him block many attacks with little damage to his body. The drawback is that it weakens the rest of his body, meaning that if he is not blocking, he should try to avoid taking a hit as even relatively weak attacks could cause major damage to the weakened parts of his body.
This takes very little chi and can be used almost as long as he would like to use it. The drawback is his trade off for using this ability. He primarily uses it when a foe is attacking with a weapon. Sharp weapons, knives, swords ect. are still able to cut even the strengthened parts of his body. Bullets and the like still pack enough of a punch to pierce his body. this is used to defend from strong blunt weapons.
Fighting Style::
His attacks are mostly based on palm strikes, elbow attacks and along using his forearms and employing hammer blows. He doesn't really punch when he fights, preferring the amount of control his palm techniques give him while in battle.
While he favors his upper body attacks. his style is not devoid of kicks. He uses low to mid height kicks, to allow the least amount of opening in his attacks. They are kick and sharp attacks, using a snapping motion to keep himself from being exposed to counters as often.
His defensive techniques are based on redirection of the attacking limbs by parrying attacks sent his way. Naturally this is only for hand to hand combat and not for projectiles. He also is keen upon using his elbows for blocking by having his arm bent and letting the point of his elbow meet with the line of attack. Causing damage to his foe and defending himself.
Murakumo is also a very grounded fighter. he doesn't like going into the air. Despite this, his primary method of quick travel from one point to another is in short quick jumps. However, he still keeps close to the ground as he does this.
Murakumo has also ended up being very fond of finger jab attacks. Knowing to keep them curled instead of strait. When he wises to strike a vital target, it is a safe bet to assume that he will use his finger jab techniques for it.
His primary weakness is grappling. He knows several arm and leg locks, quick grappling and the like. however, he doesn't fair well when a foe actually gets their hands on him and gets him in a solid grip. This is one of the easiest ways to subdues Murakumo. He also is not a projectile ki user. If he can't get in close, it's not likely he will win a battle.

Personality:
Generally Murakumo is a fairly easy-going person. It's not uncommon to find him just kicking back and chatting with people. He's a very social person and often seeks company not because he doesn't do well on his own, but rather due to the fact that he simply enjoys the company. He's charming, witty and well read. Murakumo would just as likely knock back some shots with an opponent as he would fight them. Not always feeling that the two activities should be exclusive to each other.
His outlook on life is to pretty much just have a good time. He's still responsible, taking care of what needs to be done. Aside from that, he doesn't really care whats going on. Life is a big party to him and he doesn't exactly want to be the life of this party, but he'll still do what he can to liven it up a bit every now and then. While not formal by any means, he is a very polite young man. Even his foes often have at least a little respect from him.
Murakumo is also a flirt. He's very comfortable around woman and generally likes to charm them for the sake of charming them. Getting a young lady to blush is a pastime he enjoys very much. He's not one for a true commitment. He's loyal in a relationship, but if it's looking like things are getting a little too much in the way of sever long term, he's likely to end it. Murakumo knows he's just a little too selfish with his time and likes playing the field a little too much to get involved in anything all that serious.
While in combat, he has a couple of sides. When it is a battle for nothing more than a test of skill against his foe. Murakumo is in his element. He is clearly in a good mood, even when being battered to a pulp. He gets a rush from combat that not much else could ever hope to match. However, when faced in a serious battle in which he feels his actual safety is threatened. He shows a cold and calculating side which is geared to breaking down his foe and crushing them beneath his bare hands.
Items::
Murakumo often is seen with a pair of sunglasses on him. One of his chi abilities cause strain upon his eyes, making them sensitive to light from time to time.
His long coat and the belts on his legs are often worn and he will admit that it is simply because he personally thinks it looks pretty damn cool.
He carries a cell phone with him most of the time. He rarely keeps it on, only making calls when he feels they are needed.
The Journey Begins Here!!![/b]
Born twenty three years ago, Murakumo's story is not one filled with pain and angst. His parents both held down steady jobs. They had a decent house, and though not rich. They really weren't at want for anything. When born, there was no complications. And as an infant, Murakumo seemed to be a very healthy baby. Average in all respects.
During his infancy, Murakumo seemed to be a very observant child. He seemed to pay attention to generally everything around him. It didn't seem to matter if his young mind could understand it or not. He simply seemed to enjoy taking everything in. He also showed great motor functions. While he still learned to walk around the time most children did, he seemed to have little difficulty in doing so. While not really unique, it wasn't an everyday thing to see a child go from crawling to toddling around within the same week.
He would get into everything. not uncommon for a toddler. However, he took the time to explore everything about whatever it was he got into. Still he didn't seem to be exceptional in any way. Once he started talking, it was shown that Murakumo was going to be very good with words. He seemed to learn a plethora of new words and was able to learn their meanings from context with almost no difficulty. Not really the sign of a genius, more that his academic strengths were coming through early.
By the time he entered school, he was already reading at a fifth grade level. he did decent in his classes. Excelling at literature, doing roughly around average in most other subjects, though math was one that he lagged behind in. These standards remained throughout the whole of his schooling.
During gym class he didn't have much fun despite of how active he was. He didn't care for sports and the like. They just didn't hold his interest. That was when he was taken to a martial arts demonstration. Sure he had seen martial arts movies and the like, but this was the first time he saw it firsthand. He was enraptured. The way the fighters moved, like a violent dance. It clicked, he knew what his passion would be.
This was at the age of eight. Murakumo started spending a lot of time in the backyard, mimicking what he had seen before and mostly going through forms, trying to figure out the way he felt most comfortable when moving. The amount of time he landed on his butt when trying odd moves, and the muscles pulled were numerous. However, his dedication helped him and he learned from his mistakes very quickly, not often repeating mistakes, rather making new ones that lead to the same results of previous errors.
He refused to learn any traditional style, wishing to keep his growth as a fighter open. His parents were slightly concerned, but he took care of himself and also took up mediation to help practice self-discipline. As he entered his teens, he started meeting other martial artists his own age. He was defeated in sparring matches more often than not simply due to the fact that he was self taught, and many subtle things such as proper stance and the like led to his defeats.
This ended up being his best tutor though. As he sparred against his foes, he started learning what worked and what failed, and started piecing together his own style. During his mid-teens, he started becoming a fearsome opponent. He started developing his primary methods of fighting and it was during this time that he met a young woman who beat him by using an interesting aspect of fighting known as chi.
As with many people interested in martial arts and many other practices, Murakumo was familiar with the concept of chi. Still he had not yet learned how to harness his own. After his defeat, he asked to be taught how to use his own chi. The young woman, Takako by name, agreed to do so, seeing that murakumo already showed promise as a fighter and a dedication along with a temperament that was well suited to help him learn.
Once the lessons began, Murakumo practiced as often as possible, often driving himself to the point of exhaustion. He showed his talent and enhancing his own body almost from the start, learning to manipulate his muscles very quickly, allowing him quick bursts of speed at the cost of wearing down very quickly, the very technique Takako had used to defeat him in their first match.
However, as with his fighting, Murakumo learned to use his chi on his own at times. After several years he developed a few abilities without help from Takako, surprising her with an ability with enhanced his perception. At this point Takako unleashed a projectile chi attack. A blast of pure chi which slammed into Murakumo and sent him flying. She apparently was still years beyond him in this aspect. Still, he was able to start developing a counter and when their next match occurred, Takako used the attack and he seemed to barely be phased. Once again he had developed a technique to give him something of an edge against her. Though as with his other techniques, it wasn't enough. TO this day he still hasn't beaten his chi instructor in either chi combat, or strait hand to hand.
As with many people, Murakumo graduated from high school. His marks were good, though he wasn't top of his class in any subject, not even literature. However, he was still able to gain a scholarship which helped him get into college. Currently he is still training and has participated in many local tournaments. He has suffered losses and wins at an almost even rate. The losses primarily due to fighting against styles that he is not familiar with.

Murakumo sat back in his seat, letting his arms hang loose and his head was leaning back as well. His bright green eyes were closed. For the most part, he looked like he was napping. His lithe frame was covered by his combat outfit, a black tank top with dark green sweatpants and wrappings around his hands and feet. It had been a boring street tournament. He had a couple of opponents who had gotten a hit or two in, better than most of the random martial artists he faced in these events.
He gave a yawn just as his name was called. his next match was about to start. The redhead rose from his seat in a single fluid motion that betrayed a catlike grace in his movements. He hoped this next fight would be a bit more intense. That was the whole point of him fighting, seeking a rush and a challenge.
Walking to the makeshift ring, which was nothing more than a chalk outline on the ground of the alleyway. Murakumo stole a glance at his opponent, a tall and well built man, perhaps a year or two older than he was. The guy at least looked to be in the proper shape for the type of fighter that Murakumo enjoyed facing off against, balanced. Murakumo enjoyed a balanced foe. he was able to face a variety of advantages and disadvantages all at once when in such a battle.
He flashed a grin and nodded at his opponent. The man gave a slight incline of his head in return. Murakumo shifted to let himself fall into his fighting stance, the only readily apparent side was his right side leading in the stance. While his foe took up a stance which Murakumo recognized as the base stance of Tae Kwon Do. He loved fighting against this style, it was fun to try and figure out how to get between the kicks when they were done properly.
Then the signal to begin the fight sounded. Grinning like a maniac, Murakumo darted in at his foe, covering the ten feet between them very quickly and shifted his upper body to allow the snapping front kick to fly right by him while he let his right palm slam into the man's hip, throwing him back.
It better not be this easy. Murakumo thought as he stopped his forward momentum and grinned at seeing the man land on one hand before pushing himself up and smoothly landing in his stance.
The green eyed fighter waited for his opponent to come at him this time, and didn't have to wait long. His foe darted in and Murakumo let his body tense, waiting for the attack, this match might actually prove interesting. At least it wouldn't be over too quickly, and that was enough for him...
